SiMP CLEAR | Transparent Elastic Adhesive & Sealant, SiMP One-Component

SiMP Clear is a transparent, one-component, elastic adhesive and sealant, designed for gun application, non-sagging, and based on silyl-modified polymer (SiMP). The product cures under the influence of atmospheric moisture, forming a high-performance compound that maintains long-lasting elasticity and excellent weathering and aging resistance. It is solvent-free and isocyanate-free.

  • Transparent

  • Environmentally Friendly – Solvent-free and isocyanate-free

  • No Hazard Warning Symbols Required

  • No Air Bubbles – Odorless

  • Simultaneous Bonding and Sealing

  • Permanent Elasticity

  • Easy Application with Excellent Consistency for Shaping

  • Exceptional Thixotropy – No sagging, quick string-cutting

  • No Volume Change – No shrinkage

  • Excellent Adhesion without a primer on common building and industrial materials

  • Non-Staining on concrete and porous materials

Applications

SiMP Clear is a high-performance, versatile, transparent adhesive and sealant suitable for a wide range of applications in interior installation, construction finishing, furniture manufacturing, and industrial assembly, where clear bonding or sealing is required. It is ideal for elastic transparent bonding between metals, plastics, glass, and other materials, as well as joints between window or door frames, and mirror or glass assembly.

SUITABLE FOR INDOOR BONDING AND SEALING ONLY. NOT SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR SEALING APPLICATIONS. THE PRODUCT MAY DISCOLOR AND DECREASE STABILITY WHEN EXPOSED TO UV RAYS OVER LONG PERIODS.

Application Instructions

Surfaces to be treated must be completely clean, dry, and free of dust or grease. Surface preparation should follow NPT’s application guidelines, and if necessary, specialized CLEANER or ACTIVATOR products from the NPT range can be used. It is recommended to perform preliminary adhesion testing on the supporting surface.

Attach the plastic nozzle and cut it to the appropriate angle for the desired bead thickness and shape. Install the foilpack or adhesive cartridge into a manual or pneumatic applicator gun (equipped with a telescopic piston) and carefully apply the adhesive, ensuring no air enters. Once opened, the adhesive packages should be used promptly. The optimal working temperature for both the surface and adhesive is from 15°C to 25°C.

Shaping and finishing should be done before the adhesive skins over. SiMP Clear can be painted over. It is recommended to test paint compatibility with preliminary tests. Take caution when using alcohol or alkyd resin paints, as they may interfere with the curing process of the adhesive and extend the paint’s drying time. Note that the paint’s hardness and thickness can reduce the elasticity of the adhesive and cause cracking.

Do not cure in the presence of curing silicone sealants. Avoid contact with cleaning solvents during curing. When applying the adhesive, ensure that air does not enter. As the system cures by moisture, ensure adequate exposure to air. Bonded parts may need additional holding or support during curing.

Cleaning Instructions

Clean tools used with acetone or solvent. While the adhesive is still uncured, it can be wiped off with paper or cloth. Once the adhesive has cured, it can only be removed using mechanical methods. Avoid direct skin contact by wearing latex, rubber, or polyethylene gloves. If the adhesive contacts the skin, wash immediately with soap and water.

Storage Instructions

SiMP Clear can be stored for 12 months if kept in its original (unopened) packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C, in a dry, cool place. Storage temperatures should not exceed 25°C for prolonged periods. Keep away from damp areas, direct sunlight, and heat sources.
