SiMP Spray | One-Component Hybrid Polymer Adhesive & Sealant, Spray Form

SiMP Spray is a one-component, elastic adhesive and sealant, based on silyl-modified polymer (SiMP), designed for spray applications in automotive body repair and industrial assembly. The product cures under the influence of atmospheric moisture, forming a high-performance, long-lasting flexible adhesive. It is solvent-free and isocyanate-free.

  • Solvent-Free and Isocyanate-Free – Odorless

  • Can be Applied by Spraying or Brushing

  • No Air Bubbles

  • Corrosion-Resistant – Safe for the supporting surface

  • Excellent Weather and UV Resistance

  • Can Be Painted Over While Wet (pre-testing recommended)

Applications

SiMP Spray is a versatile sealing and bonding adhesive, specifically designed for direct spray applications, such as sealant for joints to restore original traces. It is used for lap or weld joints in the automotive industry, as well as in the construction and repair of passenger vehicles, body shells, railcars, industrial vehicles, and containers. Additionally, it helps protect against corrosion. SiMP Spray provides excellent adhesion without the need for a primer on metals, painted surfaces, aluminum, PVC, fiberglass-reinforced plastics, ABS, polycarbonate, and general plastics.

Application Instructions

Surfaces must be completely clean, dry, and free of dust or grease. Surface preparation should follow NPT’s application guidelines, and if necessary, use the specialized CLEANER or ACTIVATOR products from the NPT range. Preliminary adhesion testing should be performed on the supporting surface.

For spray application, use a specialized pneumatic spray gun equipped with an adjustable nozzle. The nozzle can be adjusted to achieve a smooth surface (orange peel effect) or a clearer effect by adjusting the nozzle and air pressure. For better control of airflow and finishing results, start with zero pressure and gradually increase to the desired airflow. Spray from 5 to 40 cm away from the object. SiMP Spray is a thixotropic paste with low viscosity, and its viscosity value may slightly vary depending on each batch and its remaining shelf life. Preliminary spraying and finishing tests should be conducted to achieve the desired effect.

SiMP Spray can be painted over. It is recommended to test paint compatibility through preliminary tests. Take caution when using alcohol or alkyd resin-based paints, as they may affect the curing process of the sealant and extend the paint’s drying time. Paint hardness and thickness can reduce the sealant’s elasticity and cause cracking.

Do not cure in the presence of curing silicone sealants. Avoid contact with cleaning solvents during curing. When applying the adhesive, ensure no air enters the joint. Since this system cures by moisture, ensure adequate exposure to air.

Cleaning Instructions

Clean tools with acetone or solvent. While the sealant is still uncured, it can be wiped off with paper or fabric. Once cured, it can only be removed using mechanical methods. Avoid direct skin contact by wearing latex, rubber, or polyethylene gloves. If the sealant contacts the skin, wash immediately with soap and water.

Storage Instructions

SiMP Spray can be stored for 12 months if kept in its original (unopened) packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C, in a dry, cool place. Storage temperatures should not exceed 25°C for prolonged periods. Keep away from damp areas, direct sunlight, and heat sources.
