SiMP-Seal 55 | Multi-Purpose One-Component SiMP Adhesive & Sealant, Bonds to a Variety of Surfaces
SiMP-Seal 55 is a multi-purpose, one-component, non-sagging SiMP (Silyl-Modified Polymer) adhesive and sealant, designed for gun application. The product cures under the influence of atmospheric moisture to form a high-performance elastic adhesive that maintains long-lasting flexibility. It is free from solvents and isocyanates.

Instructions for Use
Surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry, and free of dust or grease. Pre-treat bonding surfaces according to NPT’s application guidelines, and if necessary, use NPT’s CLEANER or ACTIVATOR products. Preliminary adhesion tests should be conducted on the supporting surface.
Attach the nozzle and cut it at the desired angle to match the thickness and shape of the adhesive bead. Load the foilpack or cartridge into a manual or pneumatic caulking gun (equipped with a telescopic piston) and apply the adhesive carefully, ensuring no air is trapped. Once opened, the adhesive should be used within a short period. The optimal operating temperature for both surfaces and the adhesive is between 15°C and 25°C.
Shaping and finishing must be done before the adhesive forms a skin. SiMP-Seal 55 can be painted over. Prior compatibility tests should be conducted by performing preliminary tests. Note that the use of alcohol or alkyd resins may affect the curing process and extend the drying time of the paint. Also, the hardness and thickness of the paint layer can reduce the adhesive’s elasticity and cause cracking.
Do not cure in the presence of curing silicone sealants. Avoid contact with cleaning solvents during the curing process. When applying the adhesive, avoid air entrapment. Since this system cures with moisture, ensure adequate exposure to air. Bonded parts may need additional support during curing.
Cleaning Instructions
Clean tools with acetone or solvent. When the adhesive is uncured, it can be wiped off with paper or cloth. Once cured, removal can only be done mechanically. Avoid direct skin contact by wearing latex, rubber, or polyethylene gloves. If adhesive contacts skin, wash immediately with soap and water.
Storage Instructions
SiMP-Seal 55 can be stored for 12 months in its original (unopened) packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C in a dry and cool place. Storage temperature should not exceed 25°C for extended periods. Keep away from damp areas, direct sunlight, and heat sources.
