SiMP 2K Fast | Two-Component Elastic SiMP Adhesive with Ultra-Fast Bonding Capability

SiMP 2K Fast is a two-component SiMP – Silyl Modified Polymer elastic adhesive with ultra-fast bonding capability. After mixing, the adhesive cures and forms a high-performance bonding compound, achieving high tensile strength within just 60 minutes. The product is solvent-free, isocyanate-free, and odorless.

  • Fast curing time, with tensile strength achieved after 60 minutes

  • Easy to handle

  • Non-sagging, no dripping

  • Wide adhesion range without the need for a primer

  • Suitable for versatile bonding applications

  • Neutral properties, safe for the substrate surface

  • High resistance to mechanical and dynamic stress

  • Impact and vibration resistant (shock absorption)

  • Spot welding can be performed before curing

  • Can be sanded and painted over

  • Solvent-free, odorless

Application

SiMP 2K Fast is designed for fast bonding of various materials such as steel, aluminum, and glass, used in construction, HVAC, automotive bodywork, buses, trucks, railcars, as well as vehicle and container construction. Thanks to its rapid crosslinking capability, parts can be bonded in a continuous working process. The neutral curing process allows bonding without the need for pre-heat or chemical treatment on assembly parts. SiMP 2K Fast can be used on metals, electrostatically painted surfaces, coatings, galvanized, anodized, chrome-plated, or hot-dip galvanized materials, plastics, ceramics, stone, concrete, and wood. Due to the variety of materials and components, preliminary adhesion testing is recommended.

Instructions for Use

Surfaces to be bonded must be thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from dust or grease. Pre-treat the bonding surface according to NPT’s application guidelines, using specific CLEANER or ACTIVATOR products from NPT’s product line. It is recommended to perform preliminary adhesion tests on the supporting surface.

Insert the adhesive cartridge into the dedicated caulking gun. Mixing should be done using the provided static mixer, which includes a minimum of 16 parts; fewer parts will not ensure proper mixing. More parts will accelerate the chemical reaction of the curing process. The static mixer is disposable and should be discarded after use. Ensure that the adhesive extruded has a uniform color; poorly mixed product should not be used and must be discarded.

Parts must be assembled before the adhesive begins curing and should be evenly compressed across the entire bonding area. The durability and longevity of the joints depend on proper surface preparation before bonding. Bonding surfaces should be cleaned with a suitable degreaser to remove any traces of dust, dirt, oil, and grease. Shaping and finishing should be done while the adhesive is still usable.

Avoid contact with solvent-based cleaners during curing. When applying the adhesive, avoid air entrapment. Bonded parts may require additional time to hold or support during curing.

Cleaning Instructions

Clean tools using acetone or solvent. When the adhesive is uncured, it can be wiped off with paper or cloth. Once cured, the product can only be removed mechanically. Avoid direct skin contact by wearing latex, rubber, or polyethylene gloves. If the adhesive contacts skin, remove immediately and wash with soap and water.

Storage Instructions

SiMP 2K Fast can be stored for 12 months in its original (unopened) packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C in a dry, cool place. The storage temperature should not exceed 25°C for extended periods. Keep away from damp areas, direct sunlight, and heat sources.
