Instructions for Use
Surfaces to be bonded must be thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from dust or grease. Pre-treat the bonding surface according to NPT’s application guidelines, and use specific CLEANER or ACTIVATOR from NPT’s product line. Preliminary adhesion testing on the supporting surface is recommended.
Attach the nozzle and cut it to the desired angle to create the desired thickness and shape of the adhesive bead. Insert the adhesive cartridge or tube into a manual or pneumatic caulking gun (equipped with a telescopic piston) and carefully extrude the adhesive, avoiding air entrapment. After opening the package, use the adhesive within a short period. The optimal working temperature for both the surface and adhesive is between 15°C and 25°C.
Shaping and finishing must be done while the adhesive is still tacky. SiMP-Seal 650 can be painted over. Paint compatibility should be tested through preliminary trials. Caution is advised when using alcohol-based or alkyd resins, as they may interfere with the curing process of the adhesive and extend the drying time of the paint layer. The hardness and thickness of the paint layer can affect the elasticity of the adhesive and lead to paint cracking.
Do not allow curing in the presence of curing silicone sealants. Avoid contact with solvent-based cleaning agents during curing. When applying the adhesive, avoid air entrapment. Since this system cures with moisture, ensure sufficient exposure to air. Bonded parts may require additional holding or support during the curing stage.
Cleaning Instructions
Clean used tools with acetone or solvent. When the adhesive is uncured, it can be wiped off with paper or cloth. Once the adhesive has cured, it can only be removed mechanically. Avoid direct skin contact by wearing latex, rubber, or polyethylene gloves. If the adhesive contacts skin, remove immediately and wash with soap and water.
Storage Instructions
SiMP-Seal 650 can be stored for 12 months in its original (unopened) packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C in a dry, cool place. The storage temperature should not exceed 25°C for extended periods. Keep away from damp areas, direct sunlight, and heat sources.
