SiMP HIGH TACK | SiMP One-Component Elastic Adhesive, High Adhesion, High Initial Bonding Strength

SiMP High Tack is a one-component, silyl-modified polymer elastic assembly adhesive, designed for gun application. It is non-sagging, with high adhesion strength and excellent initial bonding. The product cures under the influence of atmospheric moisture, forming a high-performance elastic adhesive that maintains long-lasting flexibility and superior structure when applied.

Key Features:

  • SiMP Polymer (Silyl-Modified Polymer)

  • Solvent-free, isocyanate-free, and odorless

  • Exceptional thixotropic properties, no sagging, and quick string-cutting

  • High initial adhesion: Strong bonding and good load-bearing capacity

  • High mechanical and dynamic stress resistance

  • Shock and impact resistance

  • Vibration and noise reduction

  • Increases the torsional stiffness of the final structure

  • No air bubbles formation

  • Adhesion without the need for a primer on most common industrial materials and surfaces

  • Non-staining, neutral, and does not affect the supporting surface

  • No hazard warning symbols required, odorless

  • Can be painted over with various water-based and solvent-based paints (pre-testing recommended)

Applications

SiMP High Tack is a strong and versatile elastic adhesive, ideal for all bonding applications requiring maximum immediate adhesion without the need for additional support for heavy materials and various substrates, including metals, sheet steel (galvanized, coated, and painted), untreated or anodized aluminum, brass, copper, glass, fiberglass-reinforced plastic (GRP), wood, concrete, and many types of rigid plastics. This product is used in structural elastic bonding applications in installation, construction, facades, assembly, transport, and marine industries, where a high-performance elastic adhesive with superior bonding strength and rapid strength build-up is required.

Application Instructions

Surfaces to be treated must be completely clean, dry, and free of dust or grease. Surface preparation should follow the application guidelines provided by NPT, and if necessary, the use of specialized CLEANER or ACTIVATOR products from the NPT range may be required. Preliminary adhesion testing should be carried out on the supporting surface.

Attach the plastic nozzle and cut it at an angle suitable for the desired bead thickness and shape. Install the foilbag or adhesive cartridge into a manual or pneumatic applicator gun (equipped with a telescopic piston) and carefully dispense the adhesive, avoiding air pockets. Once opened, the adhesive packages should be used promptly. The optimal working temperature for both the surface and adhesive is between 15°C and 25°C.

Bonding and Fixing:
Apply adhesive to a single surface in beads (spacing 10-30 cm apart). Always apply adhesive to corners and along edges. Assemble the parts into the correct position within 5 minutes and press firmly or gently tap with a rubber mallet. Instant bonding occurs immediately; if necessary, hold or support heavy materials for 24 hours.

Do not cure in the presence of curing silicone sealants. Avoid contact with cleaning solvents during curing. When applying the adhesive, ensure that air does not enter. Since the system cures via moisture, ensure sufficient exposure to air. The bonded parts may need additional holding or support during curing.

Cleaning Instructions

Clean tools used with acetone or solvent. While the adhesive is still uncured, it can be wiped off with paper or cloth. Once the adhesive has cured, it can only be removed using mechanical methods. Avoid direct skin contact by wearing latex, rubber, or polyethylene gloves. If the adhesive contacts the skin, wash it immediately with soap and water.

Storage Instructions

SiMP High Tack can be stored for 12 months if kept in its original (unopened) packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C, in a dry, cool place. Storage temperatures should not exceed 25°C for prolonged periods. Keep away from damp areas, direct sunlight, and heat sources.
