SiMP-Seal 630 | Multi-Purpose One-Component SiMP Elastic Adhesive & Sealant, Sprayable

SiMP-Seal 630 Spray is a one-component elastic adhesive and sealant, using Silyl Modified Polymer (SiMP), designed for spray applications or creating adhesive lines in various industrial tasks, assembly, or repairs in the automotive and marine industries. The adhesive cures under the influence of atmospheric moisture, forming a high-performance, flexible, and permanent elastic sealant. The product is solvent-free, isocyanate-free, and odorless. In low humidity conditions or when used on large surfaces, the crosslinking process of SiMP-Seal 630 Spray can be significantly accelerated by mixing it with a catalyst from the NPT product line, such as Booster LV.

  • Silyl Modified Polymer (SiMP)

  • Solvent-free, isocyanate-free, odorless

  • Corrosion-resistant

  • Vibration damping and sound reduction

  • Seals construction joints and welded metal sheets

  • Easy to apply for creating adhesive lines

  • Easy to shape, brush, and smooth

  • Permanent flexibility across a wide temperature range

  • No bubble formation

  • Can be painted over with various water-based and solvent-based paints (preliminary testing recommended)

  • No hazard warning symbols required

Application

SiMP-Seal 630 Spray is a versatile adhesive and sealant, specially designed for spray applications, suitable for both joints and recreating original markings. The product is used in overlapping or welded joints in the automotive industry and in the construction and repair of vehicle bodies, railcars, industrial vehicles, and containers, while also providing protection against corrosion. It is also highly effective in industrial and marine industries, used for constructing sandwich panels, coatings, and bonding various materials or similar types, even on large surfaces. It has excellent adhesion without the need for a primer on coated surfaces, colored metals, non-ferrous metals, PVC, gelcoat, HPL, fiberglass-reinforced plastics, ABS, polycarbonate, and general plastics.

Instructions for Use

Surfaces to be bonded must be thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from dust or grease. Pre-treat the bonding surface according to NPT’s application guidelines, and use specific CLEANER or ACTIVATOR from NPT’s product line. Preliminary adhesion testing on the supporting surface is recommended.

For spray applications, use a dedicated pneumatic gun equipped with an adjustable nozzle. By adjusting the nozzle and air pressure, you can create a fine spray effect (orange peel effect) or a more pronounced spray effect. For better control of airflow and the finish, start with zero pressure and gradually increase to the desired flow. Spray at a distance of 5 to 40 cm from the object. SiMP-Seal 630 Spray is a thixotropic mixture with low viscosity; the viscosity value may slightly vary depending on the batch and remaining storage time. It is recommended to perform spray and finishing tests beforehand to achieve the desired effect.

SiMP-Seal 630 Spray can be painted over. Paint compatibility should be tested through preliminary trials. Caution is advised when using alcohol-based or alkyd resins, as they may interfere with the curing process of the adhesive and extend the drying time of the paint layer. The hardness and thickness of the paint layer can affect the elasticity of the adhesive and lead to paint cracking.

Do not allow curing in the presence of curing silicone sealants. Avoid contact with solvent-based cleaners during curing. When applying the adhesive, avoid air entrapment. Since this system cures with moisture, ensure sufficient exposure to air. Bonded parts may require additional time to hold or support during curing.

Cleaning Instructions

Clean used tools with acetone or solvent. When the adhesive is uncured, it can be wiped off with paper or cloth. Once cured, the product can only be removed mechanically. Avoid direct skin contact by wearing latex, rubber, or polyethylene gloves. If the adhesive contacts skin, remove immediately and wash with soap and water.

Storage Instructions

SiMP-Seal 630 Spray can be stored for 12 months in its original (unopened) packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C in a dry, cool place. The storage temperature should not exceed 25°C for extended periods. Keep away from damp areas, direct sunlight, and heat sources.
