U-Seal 208 BTR Adhesive | High-Viscosity One-Component Polyurethane Adhesive for Direct Glass Installation and Structural Bonding, Specialized for the Bus, Truck & Rail Industry

U-Seal 208 BTR is a high-viscosity, high-performance, one-component polyurethane adhesive with excellent coverage and strong initial adhesion, designed for direct glass installation and general assembly in commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, and rail transport. The product offers excellent UV, weather, and aging resistance.

  • One-component polyurethane

  • Solvent-free, odorless

  • Fast curing

  • Suitable for both cold and warm temperature applications

  • Exceptional thixotropy, high coverage, non-sagging

  • High viscosity – strong initial adhesion

  • High modulus – maintains torsional stiffness and enhances vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) values

  • Capable of withstanding high dynamic pressure

  • UV-resistant, weather-resistant, excellent aging and color stability

  • Provides the best appearance for aesthetic purposes

Application

U-Seal 208 BTR is specially designed for the replacement and installation of front, side, and rear windshields in the bus, truck, rail, and industrial vehicle industries. Due to its high viscosity, the adhesive ensures excellent initial bonding and is ideal for use on large glass surfaces, typical in the BTR (Bus-Truck-Rail) industry.

It is suitable for structural elastic bonding (assembling different materials that withstand high temperatures and dynamic pressure) in the transportation industry. The product is also characterized by excellent UV resistance and color stability, making it ideal for sealing exposed joints, including joints between side glass panels. Once cured, the adhesive creates a semi-matte surface, providing excellent aesthetics.

Certification

EN 45545-2 R1 & R7

DRIVE AWAY TIME (DAT)

  • Safe drive-away time: 5 to 9 hours

  • For vehicles with glass weights from 40 to 120 kg

  • U-Seal 208 BTR meets all long-term durability requirements based on full N.P.T. laboratory data.

Instructions for Use

Place the adhesive cartridge into a manual or pneumatic caulking gun (equipped with a telescopic piston). Surfaces to be bonded must be thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from dust and grease. Pre-treat the windshield and bonding surfaces according to NPT’s application guidelines, using NPT’s special cleaning solution or activator products and U-PRIMER 130 black primer. It is recommended to conduct initial adhesion tests on the supporting surface. Detailed guidance on primer usage can be provided by sending surface samples to our laboratory.

Do not allow the adhesive to cure in the presence of curing silicone sealants. Avoid contact with alcohol and other solvent-based cleaning solutions during curing. When applying the adhesive, prevent air entrapment. Since this adhesive cures with moisture, ensure sufficient exposure to air. Bonded parts may need to be held or supported during curing. Shaping and finishing should be done while the adhesive is still tacky.

Cleaning Instructions

Clean tools with acetone or solvent. When the adhesive is uncured, it can be wiped off with paper or cloth. Once the adhesive has cured, removal can only be done mechanically. Avoid direct skin contact by wearing latex, rubber, or polyethylene gloves. If adhesive contacts skin, remove immediately and wash with soap and water.

Storage Instructions

U-Seal 208 BTR can be stored for 12 months in its original (unopened) packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C in a dry, cool place. The storage temperature should not exceed 25°C for extended periods. Keep away from damp areas, direct sunlight, and heat sources.
